Cleanup event shows how Arlington residents make a big difference picking up a little trash
In years past, hundreds of volunteers have come to clear out litter and debris left at Fish Creek. They’ll do so again this weekend.

Angel Carter knows her Fish Creek Cleanup Challenge on Saturday will likely have less attendees than previous years. However, she’s encouraging Arlington residents to pick up trash wherever they can.
Carter, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, started the cleanup event in 2019 after noticing how much trash and debris littered the 8-mile creek trail in south Arlington.

Both directions of Interstate 30 in Arlington will be reduced to one lane from Ballpark Way to Great Southwest Parkway this weekend, as part of the ongoing Interstate 30/State Highway 360 Interchange Project.
The lane reduction is being made to give road crews time to install bridge beams, according to the city. The closure will start Friday night at 8 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
