CAPE TOWN - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and an activist group have denied any wrongdoing after the City of Cape Town launched an R1.4 million civil claim for damages against them.
City bosses blamed the party and Gatvol Capetonian for violence that marred two separate demonstrations.
A summons has been issued to Gatvol Capetonian for over R1 million in damages following a protest in August 2019.

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town is taking legal action against the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and a local activist group.
It launched a R1.4 million civil claim against the party and Gatvol Capetonian for damage to public property during violent protests in 2019.

Economic Freedom Front Western Cape Chairperson Melikhaya Xego says the school and MEC don t have an appetite to engage the party.
The Western Cape High Court has dismissed the Brackenfell High School Application in favour of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
The Cape Town schoolâs governing body last month brought an application for an interdict against the EFF protesting outside the schoolâs grounds.
This followed multiple protests near the schoolâs premises over the past few weeks that ended in violence.
