NJ students: Mount Saint Mary Academy students held Winter Coat Drive

At Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung, members of the H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere) Club, the Peer Ministry program and the Student Council held a Winter Coat Drive for St. Ann s Franciscan Soup Kitchen in Newark. Donna Toryak, director of Admissions and H.O.P.E. Club advisor, said the collections boxes were overflowing and the surrounding bags contained coats, hats, scarves and gloves for adults and children. The Sirianni family, including graduates Olivia Sirianni, Class of 2011, and Kate, Class of 2019, are volunteers there and alerted the school to the urgent need for winter wear at St. Ann’s.

Over 1.8 million New Jersey residents have so far received doses of the coronavirus vaccine since its rollout late last year, although this number may begin to rise at a more rapid pace as supply for the vaccine grows to meet overwhelming demand.
In the near future, the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines will not be the only vaccines available to New Jerseyans. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Wednesday that Johnson & Johnson’s single-shot COVID-19 vaccine meets the requirement for Emergency Use Authorization, and could be fully approved by the federal government within a few days.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – Now that the COVID-19 vaccine has arrived and centers to administer it have begun appearing throughout the Garden State, anxious residents continue to ask the same question: where can I get my inoculation?
New Jersey is slowly publicly listed COVID-19 vaccination sites. Some are accepting appointments directly, but some are not. But the state has suggested reaching out to those sites and seeing if getting an appointment is possible
