i think that this collusion that we have had, which is the justices want to believe they are oracles, and we want to believe they are oracles, so we will cover them as though they are, and nobody s discomfited, that has to fall away. i think, in a deep sense, one of the reasons we are hearing the justices howling about being investigated at all, is because we ve treated them with such reverence and solicitude that this is feels new and creepy to them. my feeling is, not that we need to, you know, chase them down the hallways, but we need to scrutinize their activities on and off the bench, and we need to do the work we failed to do in 2011, 2012, all of those years where justice thomas was not disclosing. we sort of knew it, we didn t think it was our job to figure it out. dahlia, having watched senators chased down the hallway without a single injury in the whole history of the chasing, i m all in favor of the justices being chased.
