Volunteer with the Community Cupboard Food Pantry: The Community Cupboard Food Pantry in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford seeks strong volunteers who can lift heavy items and stock storage shelves to work about three hours on the second Thursday of each month. Volunteers will work to provide a van full of food from the Greater Boston Food Bank. The load includes boxes filled with cans, 50 bags of fresh vegetables and other heavy items. With most of the schools and colleges switching to online and remote modes of instruction, the use of video-conferencing apps like Zoom and Google Meet has become a mainstream activity. While the virtual classes have been new, students are already finding ways to skip classes and blame it on technology.
An eight-year-old girl recently managed to fool her parents, her teachers as well as Zoom s support team with a genius trick. The entire incident, which earned her skipping permits for days, was narrated on Twitter by the girl’s uncle and the thread has gone viral now.
