Full spawning of fish begins in Halda river

Twenty-four hours into laying sample eggs, brood fish started spawning in full swing from last night in Halda river, a unique natural ground for carp-like fish in South Asia.
The egg collectors are thronging the river in hope to catch big hauls at various points of the river including Onkorighona to Sattarghat.

Talking to The Daily Star, Md Elias Hossen, an egg collector of Ramdasmunsir Hat in Uttar Madrasa under Hathazari upazila, said that they were getting as much egg as they expected after brood fish laid sample eggs on Tuesday night.
