A workforce housing proposal will have another chance in front of the St. Johns County Commission.
This month, commissioners rejected the rezoning proposal for 198 single-family units and 124 multi-family units south of State Road 16 and east of Four Mile Road, citing concerns about density, traffic and flooding.
The project would have used the county s new Workforce Housing Zoning District, which would require at least 40% of the houses to be priced at $210,000 or less.
Commissioner Jeb Smith, noting that Chair Jeremiah Blocker wasn t present for that discussion, requested at Tuesday s meeting that the Commission hear the item again. Commissioners supported the decision 5-0.
