The Buffalo City Metro (BCM) is set to investigate some new councillors who have been accused of intimidating and abusing former political appointees who have now been absorbed by the metro.
Troubled Amathole district municipality (ADM) is threatening to retrench some of its officials in a bid to downsize its bloated and unworkable staff complement. But Samwu has reacted by calling for ADM to be dissolved, saying the attack on jobs was caused by financial mismanagement. The district is applying measures to have its exorbitant wage bill reduced with many long-time employees facing the prospects of having to reapply for their jobs.
