Interstate 80 shut down in the eastbound and westbound directions near the cordelia junction. We have a live look at the traffic backup. All because of this incident the chp had been following. I thought i was dreaming and heard, like, fireworks. And then all of a sudden, about two minutes later, bam bam bam, and it was the cops. Lets get back to the story. The chp had been following the driver for about an hour before the car stopped just before 4 p. M, when it lost a tire. That chase then wound through sonoma, marin, contra costa and solano counties before it got to fairfield. Chp officers tried to several times to use spike strips to stop the driver.
