“One of the biggest lessons that motherhood has taught me is that I have to win because these are the minds that I am molding for the future. I want to raise my daughters to be women that don’t tolerate nonsense and just win in life. I’ve also learnt not to give up as a mother.”
ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule will not be stepping aside voluntarily when the ANC’s deadline to do so passes at the end of the month, creating the possibility that he will have to be taken through a protracted process that would buy him even more time in office.
The Pretoria High Court this week dismissed axed Gauteng health MEC Bandile Masuku’s application to overturn the findings against him by the Special Investigating Unit. However, far from being defeated, Masuku was in high spirits, saying the fact that the court had ruled that he had committed no crime had quashed insinuations that he was corrupt and engaged in nepotism.
Robert Ngwenya ‘slashed his own tyres’, court hears
This comes after the businessman filed three charges against Mabena to whom he was married to for five years. According to
ZAlebs, these charges include theft and malicious damage to property, and the other two are for assault. Two of the three charges have been dropped against Mabena, but the assault charges are still pending.
After she appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 16 March, her lawyers told
City Press that the charges of theft and damage to property were thrown out because her ex-husband allegedly slashed his own car tyres. He was caught on tape, hence the state refused to prosecute her for those charges.
The case was postponed to give Mabena’s legal representative time to go through the evidence given.
Ngwenya laid three criminal cases against Mabena, one of malicious damage to property and two of assault, following alleged domestic violence issues at their home in Centurion, Gauteng.
Mabena’s lawyer, Joshua Lazarus of Shapiro & Ledwaba, confirmed that two of the three charges against the star, who plays the role of Sihle on the popular Mzansi Magic drama, were thrown out of court.
“I can inform you that there were three charges laid by Robert Ngwenya . two of those the state refused to prosecute,” Shapiro said, and explained that one case of malicious damage to property against his client was dismissed because they were in possession of a video showing Ngwenya slashing the tyres of his own car.
ISIBAYA actress Zinhle Mabena appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 16 March.
Mabena was present for three cases that her enstranged husband Robert Ngwenya filed against her.
The cases of theft and malicious damage to property were thrown out, while the case of assault is pending.
Mabena’s lawyer Joshua Shapiro confirmed to the SunTeam that Mabena was in court and that the two cases were indeed thrown out.
“I can confirm that Zinhle was in court today and there were three cases. Two of the cases were nolle prosequi. The prosecutor dismissed those cases,” he said.
“The other matter, we’re waiting for the police and the prosecution to provide us with the contents of the docket in order to look at the matter. But at this stage, we can’t say much on that matter,” said Shapiro.
