Staff Reporter THE Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZAAC) is reportedly keen to probe a contract controversially awarded by the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef) to information technology firm Tano Digital Solutions (Tano) for a key enterprise planning project (ERP) in which the company failed to deliver within the three months deadline it was given. Curiously Tano, headquartered in South Africa is owned by Zimbabwean Wallen Tawanda Mangere, who is wanted in the United States of America’s state of Georgia in what authorities there described as deposit account fraud. Tano was awarded the contract in October last year without going to tender but failed to deliver on time.

US fraud rap haunts Zimdef’s fugitive IT contractor as key project stalls The Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef) has been left with egg on its face after an information technology firm, Tano Digital Solutions (TDS) which they hired to do some work for them without going through the tender board turned out to be owned by a businessman allegedly wanted in the United States for fraud. TDS owned by one Wallen Tawanda Mangere reportedly failed to deliver a key enterprise planning (ERP) project for Zimdef within the agreed three-month deadline earlier this year which forced Zimdef to halt the deal.

Zimbabwe police launches rape investigations on Prof Jonathan Moyo

POLICE Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga has directed police in Bulawayo to look for veteran modelling instructor Ms Sipho Ncube-Mazibuko as part of investigations following her rape allegations against self-exiled G40 kingpin Professor Jonathan Moyo. Ms Ncube-Mazibuko posted on her Facebook page last Friday claiming that Prof Moyo raped her 11 years ago while she was pregnant. She said efforts to report Prof Moyo, whom she said was powerful at the time, were ignored. At the time, self-exiled former Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri was still at the helm of the police services. Prof Moyo, believed to be in Kenya, fled the country in November 2017 during Operation Restore Legacy. He is wanted by the police after absconding court where he is facing charges of allegedly diverting of US$244 575 from the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef).
