QUETTA: The deluge continues to leave a trail of misery, suffering and distress across the country as on Saturday it consumed the lives of 43 more people and left 113 injured. Thus the overall death.
QUETTA: Advisor to Chief Minister Balochistan on Home and Tribal Affairs Ziaullah Lango on Friday directed the authorities of the law enforcement agencies for taking strenuous security measures in view of the prevailing law and order situation. “In the wake of current law and order, extra security measures should be taken to avoid any untoward situation,” the Advisor said in a statement issued by the Home Department.
Two people who died in the attack reportedly worked as security guards at the hotel. According to officials quoted by local media, all guests at the hotel were safe.
Soon after the bomb attack, the Taliban, a militant group known as Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), issued a statement taking responsibility and stating that their target were police officials.
However, initial reports claimed China’s ambassador, Nong Rong, was the target.
He was staying at the hotel but was not present at the time of the blast, Pakistan’s interior minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, said, according to Reuters.
The Pakistani Taliban did not mention the Chinese ambassador in its statements.
