BEIJING - A Beijing court on Wednesday (Aug 10) dismissed an appeal by a plaintiff in a high-profile Chinese sexual harassment case involving a well-known host of state broadcaster CCTV, a decision likely to deal a blow to China's #MeToo movement. Zhou Xiaoxuan, 29, accused one of CCTV's premier entertainment show hosts, Zhu Jun, of groping and forcibly kissing her.
Zhou Xiaoxuan had in 2018 accused TV host Zhu Jun of forcibly kissing and groping her when she was an intern, but a court last year ruled there was not enough evidence, and the decision was upheld on Wednesday.
A Chinese court on Wednesday rejected an appeal by a former state television intern against the dismissal of her long-running landmark #MeToo case accusing a star presenter of sexual harassment.
