The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police on Tuesday arrested two Chinese nationals from the capital for allegedly importing fake sewing machines to the country.
A total of 585 pieces of machine with Singer and 1,100 pieces with Butterfly logos were recovered from two warehouses in Turag area. Their estimated market value is Tk 70 lakh, Additional DIG Omar Farooq told reporters at a press conference held at the CID office yesterday.
The arrestees are Hao Xiaoping alias Bob Hao (41), and Su Yin (35).
