2022 Chevrolet Corvette Will Allegedly Lose These Three Colors
Feb 18, 2021 at 2:41pm ET ++ New shades of exterior paint might replace them.
UPDATE: Motor1.com reached out to Chevrolet to confirm these claims about the 2022 Corvette losing some color choices. The company responded:
We notified Chevy dealers that we intend to discontinue a few exterior paint colors on Corvette at the end of 2021 model year. This was done so they could provide accurate information to customers who are interested in ordering a 2021 Corvette so customers can get the color they want while still available. At this time, we are not providing specific details on color options for model year 2022. Those options will be communicated to dealers closer to the time of 2022 model year ordering.

According to Corvette Blogger, the color palette will change once again for 2022 with the discontinuation of three finishes. Sebring Orange, Shadow Gray, and Zeus Bronze are the culprits, but fret not because
“unnamed replacements” are in the pipeline according to the cited publication.
Sebring Orange finished the 2020 model year in fourth place with 1,377 cars to its name, representing 6.8 percent of total orders. Shadow Gray ranked ninth with 1,111 examples of the breed, and Zeus Bronze was at the very bottom of the list with 548 units or 2.69 percent of the total volume.
Is your ideal color on the list?
Every year, automakers make numerous changes to model packaging for a number of reasons, whether it is supplier-related or because of feature improvements. Sometimes the changes are purely aesthetic, like exterior paint colors, which are added and retired regularly. For the upcoming 2022 model year Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe and Stingray convertible, it appears three exterior colors are being dropped.
Corvette Blogger claims those colors will be the following: Sebring Orange, Shadow Gray, and Zeus Bronze. The report made no mention of any interior color or upholstery changes, but there s still plenty of time for that to change. The decision to retire Sebring Orange is particularly interesting.
