A ST MIRREN side managed by ex-Ireland international Jim Goodwin reached their first Scottish Cup semi-final in 12 years after beating Kilmarnock 5-4 in a penalty shootout tonight.
With four Irish players in the side – captain Joe Shaughnessy, Conor McCarthy, Jake Doyle-Hayes and Jamie McGrath – St Mirren progressed after the match ended 3-3 after 120 minutes.
McGrath scored a late equaliser in extra-time to bring the game to penalties, while Shaughnessy hit the net earlier in the game.
