Nearly half of registered nurses are reporting a surge in workplace violence as pandemic-driven staffing shortages worsen in hospitals throughout the country, according to a recent survey from a national nurses' union.
The survey, released Thursday by National Nurses United, polled 2,575 registered nurses. Hospital RNs also reported that their hospitals are still not adequately prepared for a Covid-19 surge.
In its bi-annual survey, National Nurses United found more than 48 per cent of nurses said they had experienced a small or significant spike in workplace violence.
