ALTON With February being Black History Month, people are looking for ways to celebrate those who have made change in their community.
Tameter Ward, founder of Know Your Worth, has a way to do just that.
Ward will be hosting the first annual Black Honor Awards and Musical celebration at Living Word Church, 991 Riley Ave., Alton, on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. According to Ward, this ceremony will honor people who have “made change in this community.”
“These people that I’m honoring have been through a whole lot and have made great achievements,” Ward said. “I just wanted to step out and shine a light on their and hopefully encourage them to keep going.”
