Alcidion Group Ltd(ASX: ALC) share price is charging higher on Tuesday afternoon.
At the time of writing, the healthcare technology company’s shares are up 8% to a 52-week high of 26.5 cents.
Why is the Alcidion share price charging higher?
Investors have been pushing Alcidion shares higher today following the release of an announcement after lunch.
According to the release, the company has signed a contract with New Zealand’s Te Manawa Taki (TMT) region District Health Boards (DHBs) for a pilot implementation of Better’s OPENeP Electronic Medication Management solution.

Alcidion Group (ALC) has signed a contract with the district health boards of New Zealand’s Te Manawa Taki region
The contract is for the pilot implementation of Better’s OPENeP Electronic Medication Management solution
An initial pilot of the solution will take place at Hāwera Hospital over six to seven months
If the pilot is successful, the company’s contract covers the subsequent rollout of the solution to all five district health boards

Hāwera Hospital may be small but it is taking giant
steps in the search for an electronic medicines prescribing
and administration (eMedicine) system for Te Manawa Taki
(TMT, formerly Midland) region district health
boards.
Over the next six months Taranaki’s rural
hospital will be piloting OPENeP, a secure eMedicine system
currently used in the UK and parts of Europe, which provides
a clear overview of patients’ medication records in a
single, shared location.
