Despite the Iranian regime’s efforts to prevent any protests in November which was a reminder of the bloody November 2019 protests for the people, the people held at least 466 protests.
Drought, mismanagement of water resources, coupled with US sanction, led to protests, starting in the southwestern province of Khuzestan in July, later in Isfahan, and, soon afterwards, in its neighboring province of Charmahal and Bakhtiari.
Resistance Units installed posters around different parts of Tehran which read, “Isfahan is not alone. Down with the oppressor, be it the Shah or Ali Khamenei” and “The regime has stolen the water. It is time to rise.”
Mothers of Iran’s November 2019 victims showed their solidarity with Isfahan’s recent water rights protests who lost their eyes by covering one eye with patches. Soon after this action, their act faced solidarity from Iranians inside and outside the country.
Following the uprising by the people and youth of Isfahan in support of farmers and their protests for the right to water from Zayandeh Rud river, last week, supporters of Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) and Resistance Units expressed their solidarity with the uprising, by posting banners and placards in different cities across the country.
