An armed man who was shot by Chicago police Monday has been charged after he allegedly assaulted an officer during an "investigatory stop" in North Lawndale, according to officials.
Javontay Kindred, 25, was charged with several felonies after being critically wounded in the police shooting Monday morning in the 2100 block of South St. Louis Avenue.
The shooting occurred around 12:05 p.m. in the 2100 block of South St. Louis Avenue. A man in his 20s was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said,
