A group of about 40 people gathered in Hoover Saturday afternoon to demonstrate against police brutality, racism and inequality.
In contrast with the dozens of arrests made at large-scale protests that took place in the community after the killing of George Floyd last summer, Hoover Police did not interfere with the protesters on Saturday.
Over the course of two hours, activists marched down the hill from the Hoover Public Library to the Hoover Police Department’s headquarters on Municipal Drive, then back to the library. Sad news for a Miami community as a mother is shockingly left with having to shield her baby with her own body . According to WSVN.com, Miami-Dade Police, responded to a shooting on Friday evening in Liberty City, that took the life of 21-year-old Zariya Williams and her friend Dawanna Graham. Zariya used her body to protect her infant. Now friends and family members are pleading with people, if anyone saw anything to please do the right thing and reach out to authorities.
