OHIO Chillicothe middle childhood education graduates recently participated in mock interviews with local educators to help hone their interview skills and prepare them for the job hunt.

KINNIKINNICK As custodians wax the floors of Zane Trace Elementary School, playful laughter echoes throughout the otherwise empty halls. For four weeks, children will enter the school as they prepare for kindergarten and the upcoming year.
The last time Zane Trace offered the Success by 6 kindergarten readiness program was the summer of 2019, and elementary school principal Susan Congrove said the absence of the initiative has been noticeable. It really showed on our fall screening, she remarked. This program makes all the difference.
In 2016, nearly 60% of students who showed up to school were not ready to succeed in kindergarten, according to the Ohio Department of Education. In response, the United Way launched the Success by 6 initiative to prepare children. Since then, the Ross County chapter has worked to provide grant funding to public schools in the area.
