HONESDALE/HAWLEY - The Stourbridge Line marks in its seventh season in 2021 since the popular train excursions were resumed in 2015 under the auspices of the Delaware, Lackawaxen & Stourbridge Railroad. Moving full throttle coming out of a difficult year with the COVID-19 pandemic, passengers can look forward to several new theme excursions- and even pedal power.
Jeff Hiller, who coordinates the excursions, reviewed the highlights.
On Saturday, May 29th they have scheduled their first BL2 & BBQ train leaving at 12 p.m. in Honesdale, with chicken BBQ from Bethany United Methodist Church.
Art Train
On Sunday, May 30 the excursion collaborates for the first time with the talented artists of the Zane Grey Plein Air group, aboard the Art Train. Get on board at Honesdale station at noon and enjoy the ride to the the depot at Hawley, where passengers will disembark for an hour to see the artists painting along the river.
