But it was well worth the wait, especially if your name was Rees.
History was created when sons Asher and Ethan joined their father Peter on the podium for the first one-family podium in the 56 years of stockcar and superstock championships run under the auspices of Speedway New Zealand.

The last pre-Christmas speedway meeting of the season takes place tonight at Fast Lane Spares Oceanview Family Speedway - and demolition is guaranteed.
A full speedway programme will be capped off by the Gourmet Express Demolition Derby.
Even though there has been no racing at Oceanview for four weeks, Whanganui drivers have been busy.

The Superstock Teams Race may have had nothing riding on the outcome on Saturday night, but they sent out a big warning that teams’ indiscretions could have a big impact on results at the Teams Champs in February. A Palmerston North Select team along with the big squad of Gisborne Giants and Wanganui Warriors raced each other once at the Robertson Holden Speedway. The overall winner was decided by the team accumulating the most points. It would have been won by Wanganui had one driver not been relegated for crossing the pole line to attack a Gisborne driver.
