A grief-stricken Cape Town mom is struggling to come to terms with the death of her teenage son who was gunned down a day before he would have received his matric results.
It was a bitter and sombre Saturday morning as the body of Wakeel Dreyer made its final appearance at his home in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town as hundreds of people gathered in song and prayer to bid the "well-mannered" teen his final farewell.
Family and friends attended a memorial service for Wakeel Dreyer, a popular Mitchells Plain matriculant who was shot 17 times in a suspected gang-related incident last week.
