While there was significant interest among councillors in an unsolicited proposal for the development of a parking garage under the Erie Street parking lot, a Stratford committee ultimately shot it down in favour of looking at development opportunities on the site of Stratford’s future Grand Trunk Community Hub.
During the city’s planning and heritage standing committee meeting Monday, councillors discussed the proposal from local architect Robert Ritz and Zand Development Corp. for a five-level 407-space parking garage underneath a five-storey commercial-residential building that would be located on the Erie Street lot.
