One dead as fire hits a residential area in Paco, Manila

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 16) One resident died and another person was injured in a fire that razed a number of homes in Paco, Manila, the city’s Bureau of Fire Protection said Wednesday.
Manila’s BFP said the fatality was a 54-year-old woman.
The blaze, which broke out at 4:25 a.m. at Gomez Street on Wednesday, left some 100 families without homes amid a pandemic and caused around P500,000 worth of damage to structures.
Around an hour later, it reached the fourth alarm, which means around 16 fire trucks were needed to put out the blaze. The fire was declared under control at 7:28 a.m. and was finally put out at 8:50 a.m.
