The Zamfara State Executive Governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle has said that his administration will utilise the three digital emergency call centres provided by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to fight banditry in the state.
The Governor made this known on Thursday when he visited the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy at his office in Abuja, the country’s capital.
In a press statement signed by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Comrade Yusuf Idris Gusau, the Governor said his administration was determined to utilise the digital emergency call centres to the maximum and ensure that the purposes to which they were established are achieved.

Governor Matawalle said that there was no society where peace can reign without justice.
He commended the state Legislative and Judicial arms for maintaining good working relationship with the executive, especially in the state government’s fight against banditry.
The Governor made the commendation while hosting the two arms of government to a Ramadan fast break at his residence, in Gusau the State capital.
He expressed satisfaction over the way the legislators and members of the judiciary support government policies and programmes, especially in the fight against armed banditry and other criminalities in the state.
The Governor further stated that a lot of successes have been recorded by his administration as a result of their support and cooperation, especially over matters that have direct bearing on the people of the State.

Zamfara State Executive Governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle has vowed to demolish any house where bandits’ informants, weapons or logistics suppliers are living in the State.
The Governor made this known while responding to the Sokoto state governor, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal along with his Council members who came to commiserate with the government and his people over the recent bandits attack in some parts of the state.
Matawalle said he has ordered for serious punitive measures including the demolition of any house where informants, logistics and weapon suppliers live, and that people who are aiding banditry activities must be arrested in the state with immediate effect.
About 515 aspirants have purchased forms on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to contest the chairmanship and councillorship positions in the forthcoming local government election in Kaduna State.
The Secretary of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Wusono, while explaining the preparation of the party in the coming local government election in the state, said 63 and 452 persons have shown interest in the positions of the chairmen and councillors respectively in the state.
He explained, “Not fewer than 63 forms were sold to party members vying for the position of chairmanship across the 23 Local Government Areas, while 452 were sold for councillorship aspirants across the 255 wards of Kaduna State.”
