About 60 years after anti-apartheid activist James Booi disappeared and was later buried as a pauper at the Zamdela Cemetery in the Free State, he will finally be buried in his home city of Gqeberha.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s Missing Persons Task Team will on Friday conduct a public exhumation of the body of an ANC activist James Booi, who died in 1966 in the Free State.
The family of political prisoner James Booi heard that he died in 1996 but they had no idea where he was buried. The NPA Missing Persons Task Team believes his remains are in a pauper’s grave in Sasolburg.
