Srinagar: The Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship, University of Kashmir, celebrated the World Intellectual Property Day. The CIIE at the varsity’s Institute of Technology, Zakura Campus, is the Institution’s Innovation Council.

Kashmir Lost Towering Teacher, Innovator To Covid19
Prof G M Bhat, top engineering teacher and innovator died of Covid19 on May 16, 2021.
Dr Bhat has headed the University’s Department of Electronics Engineering, Institute of Technology and the Institute of Technology. He was fighting Covid19.
“Prof Bhat, an innovation evangelist, helped create many meaningful platforms for local innovators in Kashmir at KU. He was instrumental in establishing the National Innovation Foundation’s innovation cell at KU in 2006 and helped create DSIR, Ministry of Science and Technology, a TePP Outreach-cum- Innovation Centre at KU,” Dr Fayaz, who is an innovations scholar-teacher in a Chinese university, wrote. “Besides playing a key role in setting up the Institute of Technology, Zakura Campus and the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Safapora, Prof Bhat was awarded two patents for his electro-mechanical cassette player and novel techniques for plus code modulation in 2003.
