ISLAMABAD: Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Monday and updated him on the probe into the anchoring of a ship at Gaddani, loaded with dangerous chemicals.
The minister gave details about the investigation, carried out by a committee, especially formed by the government on reports of a ship that contained chemicals. Ali Zaidi, in a series of tweets, said he held a consultative meeting with relevant federal and Balochistan officials regarding the ship docked at Gaddani. He said the Gaddani ship-breaking yard was working under the Balochistan government; however, due to the gravityof the matter, his ministry took initiative to address the issue. Ali Zaidi said after consultations, a joint investigation committee was notified under DG Ports and Shipping to probe alleged presence of contaminated sludge on board, fix the responsibility on involved and also recommend standard operating procedures (SOPs)

KARACHI: Expressing his anger over allegations of corruption and tax evasion levelled against him by former finance minister Miftah Ismail, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, on Wednesday said that he will give evidence of involvement of the PML-N leader in money laundering.
Addressing a press conference at Insaf House, along with PTI Karachi leaders, including the parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Bilal Ghaffar, Zaidi said Ismail has been pardoned many times, but it is enough now. “I have filed a lawsuit for damages against Ismail and would also present evidence of his involvement in money laundering today (Thursday), he said.

Islamabad : Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan H.E Kuninori Matsuda called on Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi in his office in Islamabad, says a press release.
Discussion took place on the Rs1.1 billion grant given by Japanese government to Korangi Fish Harbour Authority for the Establishment of Business Parks, Modification of Auction Hall and the Establishment of Cold Storage and Freezing Tunnels.
He also apprised the minister about his visit to KOHFA and commended the Minister and MOMA team for the transparency and speed at which the project is being carried out.

Pakistani actress Yumna Zaidi has come forward to voice her frustrations against PEMRA for their notice against Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi.
Zaidi got candid over it all during her interview with BBC Urdu and admitted, “The issues raised in Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi should be talked about. I don’t understand how PEMRA can issue a notice against the show’s content.”
Zaidi also explained that whenever she chooses any scenes, she agrees to are with the intention of giving back to the society. “But if such carefully curated content can receive a notice by PEMRA, I am forced to wonder what would even be allowed.”
