When a building needs to be demolished, some basic safety measures are a must. If they are in place, tragedies like Wednesday’s incident, in which a building’s wall crushed two people to death, are unlikely to take place.
Locals and eyewitnesses said during the demolition of a two-storeyed building, a part of the wall, around 20-foot long and 12-foot-high, collapsed onto the pavement below around 4:00pm, as the demolition work was being carried out without a safety net.
