Indian woman with deadly corona variant enters Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A non-diplomat staff of the Indian High Commission contracting the deadly Indian variant of coronavirus entered Pakistan on Saturday due to the Indian authorities ‘error’. The Indian High Commission (IHC) has been asked to place the woman under mandatory quarantine along with 12 others, who traveled from India to Pakistan and then to Islamabad. India has yet to offer any word about the development. Ms. Manju, 32, who came from Dhehradun and was working in the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, crossed over into Pakistan through the Wagha border along with 12 other non-diplomat staff, who had gone to India for holidays. India Allows Woman With Deadly COVID-19 Variant to Enter Pakistan
One of the non-diplomat staff of the Indian High Commission (IHC) infected with the deadly Indian variant of COVID-19 has entered Pakistan as a result of the negligence of Indian authorities.
According to details, Ms. Manju, 32, who hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, crossed into Pakistan on Saturday through the Wagha border along with 12 other members of the non-diplomat staff of the IHC.

While speaking with a local news outlet about the development, the spokesperson for Foreign Office, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary, said that Pakistani border authorities allowed the members of the IHC to enter Pakistan according to the enforced SOPs as all of them carried negative PCR test reports.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is designating six new ambassadors to capitals of Spain, Thailand, Cuba, Bahrain, Vietnam and France. Foreign Office Spokesman Additional Foreign Secretary Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary will be country’s ambassador to Spain vice Khayyam Akbar who has attained superannuation.
Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary viewed as a perceptive diplomat among his colleagues would be proceeding for his first ambassadorial appointment.
Well-placed diplomatic sources told The News here that Pakistan’s ambassador in Cuba Sahibzada Ahmad Khan will be ambassador for Thailand replacing Asim Iftikhar Ahmad who will be posted to an important European country.
