US officials expect J&J vaccine pause to be lifted after CDC advisory committee meets Tim Jimenez © Provided by KYW Radio Philadelphia PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) An advisory committee is meeting on Friday to discuss the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, which is on hold because of a rare blood clotting disorder found in six women who got the shot. Federal health officials are expecting the pause to be lifted. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices meets from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The independent panel will hear from medical experts along with J&J’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joanne Waldstreicher and Dr. Mathai Mammen, the global head of research and development at J&J-owned Janssen.
