LAYTON UDOT will receive an additional $60 million to finish a rebuild of U.S. Highway 89 through Layton, the agency said Monday.
Planners budgeted nearly half a billion dollars for the U.S. 89 rebuild project from Kaysville and Fruit Heights through Layton, when the Utah Department of Transportation asked for an extra $60 million to complete the final stretch. The Utah Transportation Commission approved the request at its meeting last week.

The section of U.S. 89 from S.R. 193 in north Layton to Interstate 84 had been left out of the plan because of budget constraints, but Zach Whitney with UDOT says people were concerned about finishing the entire project.

A Milwaukee County Children s Court judge was charged Wednesday with seven counts of possessing child pornography that showed the abuse of young boys.
Brett Blomme, 38, was arrested Tuesday and spent the night at the Dane County Jail. He made his initial appearance in Dane County on Wednesday afternoon, where a court commissioner set a signature bond, with the conditions Blomme not use social media or file sharing services, or have unsupervised contact with children, except for his own. By 4 p.m. he had been released.
hello, everyone. this is what people are talking about. we have breaking news from baltimore county. crews are on the scene looking for a possible drowning victim. we re live. let s go to captain mike perry with more. reporter: we re in the 8500 block of sandy plains road off cavanaugh road in north point where apparently an adult male, 21-year-old, was in a rear yard. several adults were swimming off the end of a pier when one went under. police responded very quickly along with fire personnel. fire personnel entered the water looking for the maen who submerged moments earlier. they were unsuccessful although the police officer was apparently kelling others that he could feel the victim but he could not raise him because he was so heavy. firefighters have send dive teams to the scene just a short time ago. the dive unit did find the victim, the victim is now on the pier, this he are attempting resuscitation. the victim has been in the water about a half hour or no. the w
