A couple of days ago, head coach John Tortorella spoke of the Blue Jackets needing to do the right things at key times to make a playoff run.
Unfortunately for the Blue Jackets, Thursday night was another painful reminder of what can happen when you don t. After playing 50-plus strong minutes to take a 2-1 lead on defending Stanley Cup champion Tapa Bay late in the game, the Blue Jackets made a pair of defensive miscues in a span of just over a minute, suddenly watching that one-goal advantage turn into a one-goal deficit and eventually a 3-2 loss.
While the Blue Jackets have had a number of tough losses this year and shown their mettle in coming back and playing strong the next game, this one might require all of the resiliency the team has.
