Martin Richard Cupples Sr., 77, of Fort Myers, Fla,. and Cape Carteret, N.C., passed away Tuesday at Carolina East Medical Center. He was born in Norfolk, Va., son to the late Martin Russell and Ann Timmons Cupples.
Dick graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy and served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a hard worker and owned and operated a number of businesses in his hometown of Altoona. His primary company for many years was M.R. Cupples Memorial Company.
He loved the water and loved to be around it with his family and friends. He spent many years boating both at Raystown Lake in Pennsylvania and in Bogue Sound, N.C.. He loved to travel and had many wonderful adventures with his wife, Nancy. They were married for 53 years. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed riding throughout most of his life. He had several dogs in his lifetime that he loved dearly and who meant the world to him.
