AHWATUKEE, AZ â The Ahwatukee community has rallied to support a small business after a beloved restaurateur and chef unexpectedly passed away.
Mario Caputo spent two decades serving up pizzas, smiles, and advice inside Bell Italia Pizzeria, near Chandler Boulevard and the Interstate 10.
The Italian immigrant was known for his generosity and propensity to pop out from the kitchen and sit down with customers for a drink and conversation. Itâs our home away from home basically, said Joe Lanzo. We come here for the friendship.

According to ABC15 s Zach Crenshaw, the altercation started when a man entered the t-shirt store wearing a mask, even though the owner has a no-mask policy.
At Teeslangers, owner Scott Cerkoney feels a certain way about face coverings. We have a strict no mask policy,” said Scott Cerkoney.

PHOENIX â As snowbirds flock to Valley homes for the cooler months of the year, another guest is trying to join them inside - rats.
With the temperatures dropping, rodents are looking for food and warmer shelter.
Most Arizonans are familiar with black roof rats, which love citrus. There is another brown rat though, that is more prone to living in sewers and entering your home through the pipes. Those are the ones we deal with more than we deal with the black rats, said Chad Little, Co-Owner of Urban Desert Pest Control. Thereâs multiple ways they can come in. They will come through the sewer system, into the pipes [and] chew their way out.

PHOENIX â President Donald Trump said Tuesday night he would not be signing the COVID stimulus bill. The decision impacts millions of Americans who are facing possible evictions on Jan. 1. The relief bill, if approved, is set to extend the eviction moratorium through Jan. 31.
The funds were provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developmentâs Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program and its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
