Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg, on Colcot Road, has traditionally celebrated the patron saint of Wales - St David - on March 1 and 2021 was no exception. The youngest children, who have now returned to school, dressed in the traditional Welsh costume and tasted some Welsh traditional food - including Welsh cakes - in order to celebrate together. Older pupils are still working remotely from home, but a special assembly was arranged for them by the Welsh-medium school.

The Mr Nice and Notting Hill star expressed his joy at having the time to listen back to old favourites and said Welsh language music fundamentally shaped his life, in a conversation with BBC presenter Huw Stephens to celebrate Dydd Miwsig Cymru – Welsh Language Music Day (today, Friday, February 5). Welsh Language Music Day celebrates all forms of Welsh language music, from indie, rock, punk, funk, folk, electronica to hip hop and everything in between. The day aims to introduce Welsh language music to a new audience, showcasing the artists making waves at home and internationally.
