And if he hadn t grown bored working for financial companies in his late 20s, he might have never become a city manager who applied in 2004 to become Daytona Beach s next city manager.
If Chisholm had never sat behind the desk in the big City Hall corner office overlooking Ridgewood Avenue, the Daytona Beach Pier might have stayed under private ownership and deteriorated into an even more dangerous and crumbling eyesore than it was when the city purchased it.
The pause could last seven to 10 days, according to news reports, as the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continue to look into concerns over blood clots with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
While attendees at Tuesday s event said they d preferred the idea of getting one shot instead of two, the ability to get vaccinated was more important than trying to avoid a second date with a needle.
Deltona resident Mary Sesay got her first vaccine dose Tuesday afternoon at Wes Crile Park.
Admittedly not a fan of the pinch of needles she d experienced with other vaccinations, the 76-year-old was feeling anxious the night before.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – It’s home to “The World’s Most Famous Beach” and the Daytona International Speedway, but the city of Daytona Beach also has a history full of African American roots.
The Black Heritage Trail features 18 locations highlighting important sites around the city.
The trail is just a little taste for residents and visitors alike but honors some of the big contributions made by African Americans. Spots include more well-known areas like the Jackie Robinson Ballpark and Bethune-Cookman University, but also parks and buildings named after residents.
