A new literature project has launched, giving lit fanatics across Wirral the chance to attend free workshops led by acclaimed writers. New Writing North West is a fresh project designed to support new and emerging writers based in the North West. The project is part of Lancaster Literature Festival and will hold a series of free online workshops led by four acclaimed fiction, poetry, translation and nature and environment writers: Yvonne Battle-Felton, Kim Moore, Karen Lloyd and Daniel Hahn. The workshops will give Wirral writers the chance to immerse themselves into the creative experience by submitting and discussing pieces of their own work with the workshop leader and other participants.

THE BERNIE Grant Arts Centre’s Tottenham Literature Festival, a bold festival of words, kicks off today.
This year’s festival focuses on the theme of ‘Connectedness’.
Against the backdrop of social isolation, the devastation of COVID-19 and the rallying cry that Black Lives Matter, Tottenham Literature Festival arrives a week before Christmas to encourage community and a joyful celebration of Black narratives and stories.
The festival brings together award-winning authors and incredible artists from Tottenham and beyond including Ify Adenuga, Derek Owusu, Maaza Mengiste, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Stella Dadzie, Jay Bernard, David Lammy, Gary Younge, Jessica Horn, Lola Shoneyin and Zukiswa Wanner.
