Couple charged with little boy s murder

Nation 30 Mar 2021 MELAKA: A woman has been charged with the abuse and murder of her seven-year-old son, and also in the dock is the boy’s stepfather. The mother, 32, and stepdad, 38, claimed trial at the Magistrate’s Court to murdering the boy at a home in Taman Krubong Jaya here at 3.32pm on Jan 29. At the Sessions Court, they were charged with abusing the boy at the same location. The charge, under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, carries up to 30 years’ jail and maximum RM20,000 fine or both upon conviction. The couple pleaded not guilty before Sessions judge Nariman Badruddin. Both courts fixed March 29 for the next mention.
