Gas Exporters Launch Gas Education Campaign Jan 27, 2021 2:15:pm Summary by: William Powell Posted in: Gas Exporters Launch Gas Education Campaign The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) has launched a social-media campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of natural gas, it said January 27. Environmental groups are targeting all fossil fuels for elimination, sometimes adding an artful splash of misinformation to their campaigns. The GECF aims to restore balance to the information flow with a series of posts under the title Did You Know…? . It will also simplify the facts of an industry often perceived as data heavy.  It said that it is becoming increasingly hard for the public to separate facts about gas from fiction. And the complexity of energy systems means that end-users rarely get to glimpse the processes that eventually power most aspects of their daily lives, such as electricity at home, prospects for frontrunning technologies and vehicle fuelling.

[NGW Magazine Volume 5, Issue 23] by: William Powell The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) was established in 2008 but unlike Opec, its remit does not extend to attempts to control or affect market prices. Nevertheless, the GECF may consider various scenarios to rebalance the market and mitigate the risks. We believe that exporters have to co-ordinate for the present and future development of increased flexible long-term contracts that protect their investment and revenue streams as well as satisfy consumers’ needs.

Natural Gas Daily: December 11th, 2020 Dec 11, 2020 10:00:pm Summary by: NGW Algerian national oil and gas firm Sonatrach has signed a memorandum of understanding (Mou) with Italy s Eni on concluding contracts for developing the Berkine basin, it said on December 10. Sonatrach has signed MoUs with many other foreign companies over the past year, including Chevron, ExxonMobil and Austria s OMV, on possible exploration and production projects. This push comes after the country passed a new hydrocarbon law last year that has helped generate interest in its upstream sector.    Cheniere Energy Partners said on December 9 it had signed an agreement to supply 30 LNG cargoes to a division of Cheniere Energy.
