One Dead in Hawthorne Shooting

By City News Service HAWTHORNE (CNS) - One person is dead in a Hawthorne shooting, authorities said today. The shooting occurred about 10:45 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of El Segundo and Crenshaw boulevards, said Hawthorne police Lt. C. Port. The victim was taken by paramedics to Harbor UCLA Medical Center and pronounced dead, Port said. An investigation was underway with the help of sheriff s homicide detectives, he said.
