for eventussentiallies centurie. homemade banners up. m.p.s shouting shame on you to the conservative benches on the other side. they were sitting there stone cold. we haven t seen anything like this for a very long time. it does mean parliament is suspended for five weeks. and boris johnson s options have been narrowed. his idea of a snap election was rejected by the house yesterday. he can t have a no-deal brexit. he has one option left, to try to find some kind of deal with the yueuropean union. he says he is looking towards that. and we re looking at the irish border issue. and all of the talk from his side seems to point to an idea that was muted earlier in the e.u. there would be a soft border
they did do it and we re somewhat speculating although it s informed speculation, but that russia feels that they can do this. i mea it s kind of in the light of the day. like if the clinton caper was sort of a sneaky thing they did at night, everybody has been watching this happen and unfold in slow motion. well, what price did they pay for interfering in the election of the united states? that would seem to be the most reckless, the most dangerous, the most audacious thing you could possibly do. and that story, i think, is bigger than a lot of people understand. they have done things like copy voter rolls, which they have warehoused and are going to use again in the future. we don t know for what neff airous scheme, but they were very successful. they have paid no price. so why not try again? in a funny way for them, although france of course is a less dominant country than the united states, the stakes here may even be higher because here you re playing for the breakup of the ueur
normally you would act an atmosphere of euphoria, i think there are still a lot of uncertainty from republicans here on capitol hill about just how is donald trump is going to govern. there is a lot of issues where trump does not lineup with the traditional priorities of the party here on capitol hill. voters vent themsent them a mes they don t like what republicans are doing on the line. with that said, you are seeing republicans start to come around to this. they are starting to project at least the image of ueuropean union they were shocked by the outcome on tuesday and there were a lot of attempts to figure out what went wrong and who is to blame for it and who are the best people to lead the party going forward.
extraordinary tempo of french security operations since last saturday morning. hundreds of raids in the north of paris where saint-denis is but you ve seen bill yum authorities do the same. both have large immigrant populations and many of these people are french citizens but live in communities that are quite isolated from the rest of france. they are looking for suspects. you saw this morning they found both arms and people willing to kill themselves in the name of their evil cause. so i expect these security operations to continue for quite some time. there is a state of emergency that president hollande has declared in france. that could last up to one or two more months, perhaps longer should the situation warrant it. and the question is with it being so easy once you are inside of europe to go from one country to another, there aren t really a lot of security barriers to do that because you re part of the ueuropean
