Taipei, Feb. 14 (CNA) A new wave of seasonal northeasterly winds is expected to bring cold air to Taiwan in the coming week, with early-morning temperatures likely to plunge to around 11 degrees Celsius, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Sunday.
The CWB said northern Taiwan will be the region most affected by the northeasterly winds, starting Wednesday, when markets and businesses reopen after the seven-day Lunar New Year holiday.
Temperatures are expected to reach lows of 11 degrees early Thursday and Friday mornings in Miaoli County and of 14-15 degrees elsewhere in the region, the CWB said, and climb to highs of only 17-19 degrees during the day from Wednesday to Friday.
