New automotive records are being set on a near-daily basis. We re talking Nurburgring records, top speed records, and now quarter-mile records. Last month we reported on a McLaren 765LT that had set a new quarter-mile record for the fastest production car on stock tires. Well, that same car is back and has broken its own record. The McLaren 765LT has proven to be even faster than the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon down the strip, and testing has shown that it actually produces more power than what McLaren claims from the factory. Last month this green hypercar set the record, but that time has already been smashed. When will this lunacy end?

The first race sees the Porsche get a slight jump on the Italian, but with the added grip offered by the sticky drag strip, the Ferrari catches up even faster than before, and easily passes the Porsche on its way to a 10.254 second run at 110.61 mph. The Porsche manages a respectable 10.542 second run at 103 mph.
The second race goes the same way, with the Ferrari taking an easy win with a time of 10.259 seconds versus the Porsche s 10.381 seconds. Some are complaining that the Porsche 911 S is the drop-top version, but we don t think a hardtop will make much of a difference with that much of a power difference.
