TODAY January 30, 2021 GYB2PYB, a Youth Support Group, has made known its plan to collapse structure following the recent development orchestrated by the Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello’s response to the call by the group to join the 2023 presidential race. Recall the Kogi State Governor on Friday, 29 January, 2021, said he has no answer to those urging him to vie for the 2023 presidential election at the moment. Rather, the governor asked his supporters to go out enmase to mobilize youths across the country to register for the ongoing All Progressives Congress, APC, membership and revalidation exercise In a statement signed Saturday, by its Director-General, Amb Nihi Oladele, the group said plans are underway to merge with the All Progressive Congress, APC, as they accepted Governor Bello’s challenge to mobilise youths across the country to register with the ruling party on or before the deadline.

By Joseph Erunke GOVERNOR Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said he has no answer to those urging him to vie for the 2023 presidential election at the moment. Rather,the governor  asked his supporters to go out enmase to mobilize youths across the country to register for the ongoing All Progressives Congress,APC membership and revalidation exercise. The governor’s statement was in response to the ultimatum given to him by one of his support groups under the umbrella of GYB2PYB  Youth Support Group to heed its call and immediately declare his intention to contest for the poll. This was related to members of the support group by the national coordinator,Amb.Oladele Nihi,in Abuja yesterday during a meeting he convened to brief members of the governor’s response to their earlier 14-day ultimatum to him.

Governor Bello is the chairman of the APC Women and Youth and Persons with Disability Sensitisation and Mobilisation Committee on its national membership registration and revalidation exercise. It would be recalled that the youths had earlier given Governor Bello a 14-day ultimatum to accept its call on him to contest the 2023 Presidency. Niyi at the conference said the governor acknowledged that his refusal to comment on their ultimatum may be subject to litigation by the youths. “As a result, therefore, and to spare our already over worked judiciary more avoidable work, he will neither be accepting nor declining our ultimatum at the moment. Instead, he has thrown a challenge to the GYB2PYB Youth Support Group and all other groups that have urged and called upon him to contest the 2023 presidency.

The group who made the call in a statement on Thursday signed by the state coordinator, Usman Umar said Governor Bello possesses all the qualities and requirements to hold the office. CUmar also enjoined the All Progressives Congress and it stakeholders to begin to direct their sail towards the candidature of Governor Yahaya Bello, explained that the youths of the country have resolved to rally round him to actualise the needed development for the country.
