A human rights advocacy group under the aegis of Youth Rights Campaign (YRC), has demanded an immediate and thorough investigation into the alleged victimisation of Cassandra Michael, a female student of the National Open University of Nigeria, Garki Centre, Abuja by the staff of the university.   SaharaReporters earlier reported that Cassandra had raised the alarm after being denied access to the school’s examination hall for “improper dressing”.

A revolutionary activist and National Secretary, Youth Rights Campaign (YRC), Francis Nwapa, has said that the complacency of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has emboldened those he described as political tyrants and weakened the organised labour movement in the country. Nwapa said this in a statement he issued on Wednesday amid the ongoing controversy over the attack and brutalisation of the National President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, by police officers and thugs in Imo State.

  A human rights group under the umbrella of Youth Rights Campaign (YRC) has condemned the continued cases of police brutality in Nigeria three years after the October 2020 nationwide #EndSARS protests.   The #EndSARS protests called for an end to police brutality and the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a unit notorious for extrajudicial killings and human rights violations.
